Choral Ensembles

CUA University Chorus

The CUA University Chorus is the major chorus of CUA and performs choral works from all periods and styles including important and major works with the CUA Symphony Orchestra. The University Chorus required of all undergraduate music majors except those whose major performing organization requirements are satisfied by University Symphony Orchestra or Instrumental Ensembles or those assigned to Women's Chorus. Membership is by audition. May be repeated for credit. Directed by Dr. Leo Nestor, the University Chorus rehearses Mondays 7:10-9:00PM and Wednesdays/Fridays 12:10PM-1:00PM. CUA Women's Choir

Directed by Keith Rease, CUA Women's Choir performs literatures of all periods composed for treble voices. The ensemble rehearses Mondays 7:10PM-9:00PM and Wednesdays/Fridays 12:10PM-1:00PM. May be repeated for credit.

 

CUA Chamber Choir

The CUA Chamber Choir rehearses and performs the complete spectrum of literatures appropriate for chamber chorus. Recent performances of the 25-30 member ensemble have included works of Mozart, Bruckner, Britten,  Poulenc and Badings as well as note American composers. The Chamber Choir rehearses Wednesdays/Fridays 2:10PM-4:00PM. Enrollment/membership is limited and by audition and with permission of the director. Concurrent enrollment in University Chorus or Town and Gown Singers is required of most undergraduates in the School of Music.
